Improving the legal mechanism to provide with compensated services seems to be highly relevant and significant, since it opens the way for further study of related categories and identification of practical problems in the provision of services as a rapidly developing and promising industry. At the same time, the current legislation does not clarify the term "service" as a legal category, does not contain an exhaustive list of services, which is accompanied by many disputes in legal precedents. This scientific article formulates the concept of a service, outline further prospects to improve civil legislation on the issues of agreement-based regulation of fee-based services. Possible changes and additions to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation in terms of regulating fee-based service agreements have been developed and proposed
